Front End Analyis

Resources:

1. Jeannette Campos's Front End Analysis Video for UMBC's EDU603

2. Sample Front End Analysis posted on EDU603's Blackboard

FEA Components:

A Front End Analysis report contains these components:

1. Performance Problem Statement
2. Performance Gap Analysis
2. The Root Cause Analysis
3. Findings and Recommendations
4. A Conclusion (End with recommending the next steps)

(Keep in mind that this document will be read by the organization's decision makers. Write the report succinctly and provide a broad range of recommendations for them to choose from.)

My FEA:

Tips and Best Practices from Jeannette's Video:

  • Address each of the root causes in the Findings and Recommendations section.
  • Highlight solutions in the F&R section, not problems.
  • Present the best possible solutions, even if you think they are beyond what the company can handle.
  • Be creative when creating solutions.
  • It is alright to give several solutions to one finding.
  • Be as objective as possible. Strive to be the "dispassionate analysts."
  • Recommend learning only if the RCA revealed a lack of knowledge and/or skills.
